John 1:41-43

⁴¹ He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah”^[a](A) (which is translated “the Christ”),^{(B) 42} and he brought Simon to Jesus.

When Jesus saw him, he said, “You are Simon, son of John.^[b] You will be called Cephas”^(C) (which is translated “Peter”^[c]).

⁴³ The next day Jesus^[d] decided to leave for Galilee. He found Philip^(D) and told him, “Follow me.”
